Strike King

In 1964, the "Don Fuelsch Southern Angler Guide" featured the very first "Strike King" lure made by McEwen Tackle Co. It was a single spinnerbait that Bill McEwen had made in his garage, alongside his job as a taxidermist. In the spring of 1966, Charles Spence bought the company, which at the time consisted of just a melting pot, some safety wires, a bag of silicone skirts and some molds. He immediately decided to call the company "Strike King Lure Company"!
