Fishing with crayfish, shrimp and creature baits is not only entertaining, it can also be the key to success as some lakes have strong stocks of crayfish that the perch has as their absolute favorite food! The baits in this category can be fished in an incredible number of ways, which is partly what makes it so much fun. You can jig them with regular jigheads, bounce them on the bottom with stand up heads, use Texas and Carolina rigs or use small prawns with a drop shot rig. Of course it is just as good to fish these baits in water that does not hold crayfish, but it is not as exciting!
