Summary

Vaskebjørn is a fly with ever-increasing popularity. It is a very good sign for a fishing fly.

Productinformation

The opposite is most common; superpopular a couple of seasons, and then goes completely into oblivion. The fly does not imitate anything special and can probably be mistaken for both shrimp and fish. Fans are pretty damn unanimous about what it takes to make the fly work: Talk time. You fish it with fast drag, stop and leave the fly just completely silent for a few seconds. It is during these breaks - during the valley season - that this fly exceeds many other saltwater flies. Usually, talk time is defined as 2-3 seconds. However, under certain conditions (type of fly, current in the water, etc.) the operating time can be as close as 10 seconds. Make sure you have a couple of Raccoons in the salt water drawer.

If you have not experimented with talk time before, make sure you test out the technology the next time you are out. Primarily 2-3 seconds. But you have a "hot spot" where you expect to get in contact with fish and nothing happens; try with longer talk time. Vaskebjørn is tied to quality hooks from Japanese Gamakatsu, model F314, which is one of the best hooks on the market.
