RIO MDC 12ft Sink Tips (Multi Density Control) are short, individually packed sink tips developed to fine‑tune the depth and presentation of your VersiTip style fly lines and shooting heads. Built with a dual-density coating over a 6ft + 6ft construction, they sink faster where it matters – close to the fly – while still turning over smoothly for clean, controlled salmon and sea trout presentations.

Each tip has a gradual front taper that straightens leaders reliably and delivers typical salmon and sea trout flies with very good stability, even when fishing larger patterns or heavier tubes. The rear loop is fitted with a colour‑coded sleeve and Easy ID print, allowing you to instantly recognise both weight and density on the river, and to match the right tip to your Scandi Body or other VersiTip style shooting head without guesswork.

RIO MDC 12ft Sink Tips come in three grain weights – 5/6 (75gr), 7/8 (90gr) and 9/10 (100gr) – to balance modern double‑handed and switch outfits, and to cover the full range of Scandi Bodies. Four different density combinations let you adapt to almost any water level or speed: Floating (single density) for fishing near the surface, Hover/Intermediate for subtle control just under the film, Intermediate/Sink 3 for medium depths, and Sink 3/Sink 5 for getting the fly down into stronger or colder flows. On the Hover/Intermediate version, the clear intermediate section adds extra stealth when the fish are wary in low, clear water.

Finished with RIO’s SlickCast coating, these tips shoot easily, resist cracking and give a very smooth energy transfer from shooting head to leader.
