Black streamers have always fished well and they will continue to do so, even if a small fish is not black.

There is simply a standard fly in all streamer boxes. Black gives you contrast and good visibility without the use of flash and works both in dull darkness, in low light and in colored water.

The fly is approx. 6 cm long and has a wing consisting of a strip of colored rabbit hair. To create some extra life on the fly, it is equipped with red gills, synthetic sequins and a little flash on the sides. The rabbit hair is soft and gives the fly a swimming movement while helping to give the fly the right shape. An added plus to the zonker flies is that despite a moving wing, they do not hook into the hook bend unless the wing is extra long.

Dark Lord Zonker works equally well for trout in fresh water, although it is tied to a stainless steel hook for sea trout hunting on the coast.

A good tip for this fly is to place the fly in the armpit and pull the fly back with both hands. It is a very groundbreaking technique that should always be tried when fishing over an area without results. It can also be the solution for fish that just follow the fly without taking.
