This coastal fly kit is put together for anglers who spend time wading along windy shorelines in search of sea trout. The Vision MERITAIMEN single hand rod has a medium-fast action that helps you carry line and reach distance, yet still loads nicely at shorter ranges and protects finer tippets when a strong fish runs in the waves.

The unsanded four-piece blank is tough enough for rock-hopping and easy to pack into car or backpack. A small full wells handle and EVA fighting butt give secure grip for both overhead and underhand casting, and solid aluminium reel seat keeps the reel fixed during hard casting days. VATN Fly Reel adds a light yet stable platform with large arbour design to reduce line memory and speed up retrieve, plus a smooth, enclosed drag strong enough for heavy coastal fish.

Matched with the VATN Coastal+ F/I fly line and VATN Braided Backing, the setup is ready for classic Scandinavian seatrout water – shallow bays, reefs and current seams. The front-loaded intermediate head cuts through wind and settles just under the surface while the floating running line stays easy to control during wading.
