Umpqua Fly Gamebird Doctor is a modern jig nymph / streamer hybrid designed to reach feeding fish quickly and stay in the strike zone. Built around an oversized tungsten bead, it cuts through fast current and gets down where trout and other predatory fish hold close to the bottom.

The fly uses mottled gamebird feathers that imitate the broken markings of small baitfish and parr, a proven trigger in both clear and slightly coloured water. A slim marabou tail adds plenty of movement with very little bulk, making the pattern easy to cast on a range of fly lines.

Tied on a strong jig hook, this pattern rides hook point up, which helps to avoid bottom snagging on stones and structure while improving hook-up rates.
