RIO Classic 15ft Sink Tips are a benchmark choice for salmon and sea trout anglers fishing double handed rods of 13ft and longer. Designed for use with VersiTip style fly lines, these 15ft tapered tips provide smooth turnover and controlled presentation of typical salmon and sea trout flies, whether you are swinging smaller patterns or heavier tubes. The gradual front taper allows you to land the fly with finesse, while still having enough power to turn over leaders and larger flies in challenging conditions. Available in a wide range of densities – from floating to deep sinking – you can easily cover any holding depth and adapt to changing river levels and currents throughout the season.

The range consists of four tip sizes: #5/6 (95gr), #7/8 (110gr), #9+ (125gr), and the extra powerful “Power” (150gr) option for heavier double hand setups and bigger rivers. Each size has a colour coded rear sleeve (white, blue, grey, or yellow) so you can quickly identify the right tip on the bank without guesswork. For 2026, the intermediate tips are now completely clear, giving a more discreet connection when fish are shy in clearer water. Built with RIO’s SlickCast coating, the tips shoot easily, minimise friction in the guides, and offer excellent durability for long days on the water. Front and back welded loops make rigging fast and reliable – simply loop to your body or head and attach your leader, and you are ready to fish with a clean, streamlined connection.
