Kolsvart

Kolsvart AB was founded in April 2012, with the intention of running an attractive café; what became Rosie's Café, in Slottsstaden in Malmö. It was just the right time for a place to sell high quality coffee, in an era when environmentally and artisan-conscious consumers are becoming more and more common. People flocked. But financially, things weren't going well, and the passion for the coffee could be said to have been somewhat stronger than the knowledge of running an establishment, where all the cogs in the wheel reasonably need to work properly. But then, after testing the products of a Danish liquorice company, which, incidentally, did not sell very well, the interest was aroused to make my own liquorice instead. One of the owners had to convince the rest of the gang of the inevitable; the only right thing to do now was to close the café. To sacrifice one dream for another, so that the liquorice company Kolsvart AB could be built up. To see the light, it first had to get really dark. Kolsvart AB's ambition is to put its liquorice on the map, and that requires it to always be fresh, and always as natural as possible. We have had the liquorice analysed in the laboratory to get the correct nutritional values, and continue to experiment with exciting flavours and raw materials. Together with Simris Alg, for example, we have developed the brand new ALG liquorice. Our liquorice is and always will be as pure and natural a product as possible.
