Things to consider before making a claim:

Claims of fishing reels
Fishing reels sometimes have to endure a lot of stress when used frequently and in harsh environments, just like any other mechanical equipment. It is necessary to take care of your reel. The reel should be cleaned and serviced regularly. One must lubricate according to the manufacturer's instructions, rinse off in fresh water after each sea fishing session. Salt is often the biggest reason why the reel begins to act up, because salt is corrosive. Many reels cannot withstand salt water for a long time. By simply rinsing your reel and greasing it at regular intervals, the life span increases drastically. Fishing with heavy baits can easily wear out the reel, which means that parts of the reel needs to be replaced, this is not covered by the warranty. Before you claim a fishing reel due to squeaking sound, you should try to service the reel first - oil and grease - clean. If you fish a lot in salt water without rinsing your reel properly, it is most likely because of the salt. This is not covered by the warranty, however, we can help you to send the reel on service for a service cost, the price depends on the faultiness and what has to be replaced on the reel. Often, the bearings are rusted or worn out.

Claims of fishing rods
A fishing rod is usually delicate, it is important that you handle your rod very carefully. Crushing injuries, blows/bumps against the blank or non-properly assembled rods will damage the rod. This counts as mishandling and cannot be claimed. Damaged tip rings are usually due to the lure or leader being retrieved too far. A rod is, as we said, sensitive, it is far from indestructible. If you get snagged and pull too hard with the help of the rod it can result in the rod breaking off, this is not a claim. The fishing lines we use today (braided lines or so-called superlines) are usually considerably stronger than the rod, which results in the rod breaking off before the line when pulling too hard. So take good care of your rod - store in a case or preferably in a tube. When using an undivided rod we recommend a rod sock.

When claiming a fishing rod, you should take a close up picture of the damage and a picture of the entire rod. This is a requirement from the supplier who will assess the damage. In some cases, the supplier requires to see the breakage in order to assess the damage and in these cases you will have to saw off 10 cm at each side of the breakage and send to us.

Claims of fishing lures/baits
A fishing lure can take a lot of beating from the fish, but throwing it on a rock can become too much. If the bait, for example, is made of plastic, the bait may crack and may begin to absorb water. This is not a claim but a mishandling. A softbait that breaks from a pike's tooth can also not be claimed, the pike has sharp teeth and if you have bad luck, the softbait can withstand only one fish.
