Zenaq Tobizo Type R

ZENAQ Tobizo Type R carries the RACING spirit into one of ZENAQ's most advanced rod series. The philosophy is based on continuously pushing performance forward and challenging conventional solutions, with the goal of creating a rod for demanding big game fishing where power, precision and control work together.

One of the major innovations is ZENAQ's newly developed Hexagon Reel Seat. The construction uses high-strength TORAYCA® long-fibre carbon from Toray Industries to create an extremely rigid framework. Its hexagonal shape helps suppress side-to-side reel movement and securely holds even large reels in place.

The framework is covered with a special rubber material for a comfortable and secure feel in the hand. A rubber cushion where the reel foot sits also helps keep the reel stable without requiring excessive tightening. The result is a more integrated connection between rod and reel with efficient power transfer during both lure manipulation and hard fights.

Tobizo Type R also features a redesigned guide system. A T-RVSG40 is used as the butt guide to provide smoother line release when using large reels and heavier line systems. ZENAQ's original assist guide is positioned in the tip section to help minimise line trouble when every opportunity counts.

The guides are single wrapped to minimise interference with the natural action of the blank. This helps retain a sharp, direct rod action and a crisp feeling during the cast.

ZENAQ's Hexagon Grip features an irregular hexagonal shape that provides a secure grip during casting, lure manipulation and demanding fights. The design is intended to reduce strain on the angler while maintaining effective control of the rod during heavy-duty fishing.

The Easy-Hold Endgrip has also been carefully developed. Its selected rubber hardness and surface finish are combined with metal components that reduce unnecessary gripping area. The result is a natural and efficient grip designed for long sessions involving repeated casting.

Type R is finished with several exclusive design details, including a dedicated metal ring engraved with the Type R logo, along with gun-metallic thread and a MUTHOS logo inspired by MUTHOS RACING.

The range consists of four models, from the TC84-100G Type R for lures up to 150 g to the powerful TC80-200G Type R for lures up to 230 g and PE 10.
