Umpqua Scud Bomb Mylant Olive

Umpqua Fly Scud Bomb Mylant is a compact scud pattern built to carry the weight on a nymph rig. The Jig Bomb bead is "posted" on top of the hook shank so the fly consistently rides hook point up, letting you drift close to rocks, logs and weed beds with fewer snags. The denser bead sinks quickly, so the fly reaches the feeding zone fast, even in deeper holes or quicker seams.

This pattern works very well as an anchor fly in tight line / euro nymphing, or as the lead fly and attractor on a traditional indicator rig. The curved profile and natural colours keep it convincingly scud-like, which helps in clear water and on pressured fish. Choose size 12 when extra weight and presence are needed, and size 14 for a more discreet approach.
