Umpqua Goddard Caddis

Umpqua Fly Goddard Caddis is a classic dry fly that has earned its place in many trout boxes. The clipped deer hair body makes it ride high and stable, even in broken water, so it stays visible and effective through long drifts. Inspired by traditional sedge patterns from English lochs, it works equally well on stillwaters, freestone rivers and small streams whenever caddis are present.

Use it during evening sedge hatches, as a searching pattern over likely lies, or skated across the surface to trigger aggressive takes. The range of sizes from 12 to 18 covers everything from larger adult sedges down to smaller caddis. A solid choice whenever selective trout turn their attention to fluttering or egg-laying caddis.
