Umpqua Foam Beetle Lawson Black - #16

This small foam beetle is made for those tricky days when trout and grayling ignore mayflies and focus on terrestrials. The compact foam body sits low in the surface film, just like a real beetle that has landed or fallen in. At the same time, the discreet wing case and legs give a natural profile without looking over-dressed.

The black colour gives a clear silhouette in most light conditions, and the simple design makes it easy to spot, even in rougher water. Size #16 is perfect for slower pools, small streams, or calm edges where fish rise carefully. Fish it dead-drift along the bank, under overhanging trees, or as the top fly in a dry–dropper rig when fish are selective and wary.
