The 1 O’Clock Midge is built for those slow midday hours when trout rise selectively and ignore most patterns. Its slim profile and bright, upright wings imitate an adult midge that stands out just enough to be seen, without spooking pressured fish. The fly has proven especially effective on clear tailwaters and technical rivers where trout get a lot of angling pressure.
Fish it in the upper two-thirds of the water column, either on a long, fine tippet or as a trailer behind a dry fly. This lets it sit right where trout expect emerging or newly hatched midges. The 1 O’Clock Midge works well for sight-fishing to rising fish, but also as a subtle searching fly when there is light midge activity. Designed by Signature Tyer Dylan Gonzales to bring confidence when targeting picky trout.
