The brake on Elemnt fly reels is built with Taylor's ESD+ technology (Exterior Seald Drag Plus). This provides a fly reel with the performance of a fully waterproof reel but at the price of a reel without a waterproof drag system. The drag system in Elemnt reels is protected by sealing O-rings outside the drag package, preventing water, moisture, and dirt from entering. The brake is smooth, and the reel emits a faint clicking sound on both winding in and out.
