Orvis Recon

The Orvis Recon series is built at the Orvis Rod Shop in Vermont, USA, and offers a modern fly rod for anglers who value accurate presentation and reliable performance on the water. Thanks to a blank with high resistance to compression and very fast vibration damping, the rod tracks cleanly and helps you place the fly where it needs to be, even in tricky conditions.

Freshwater models (864-4, 905-4, 906-4) feature a matte olive blank with grey and green highlights, pewter Type III aluminium reel seat with wood insert, silver snake guides and a matching rod tube. They are well suited for everything from delicate trout fishing with line class 4 to all-round river and stillwater fishing with line classes 5–6.

The saltwater-oriented models (906-4 SW, 907-4, 103-4) come with a matte blue blank, grey and blue details and a corrosion‑resistant pewter Type III aluminium reel seat with graphite insert. These rods offer extra power for coastal fishing, heavier nymphing or larger flies, while still allowing controlled, accurate casting.

All rods are 4-piece for easy transport, with low overall weight and a balanced action that works well with modern fly lines.
