Megabass Astelion

Megabass Astelion is a series of longer spinning rods with highly responsive blanks, developed with true Japanese craftsmanship for modern coastal fishing. Designed for sea trout, seabass and other long-distance styles, Astelion delivers precise casting, crisp feedback and a perfectly balanced action that stays in tune with the angler’s rhythm throughout the entire retrieve and fight.

From the first swing you feel that the blank is different from traditional long surf rods. Astelion Blanks are built to eliminate the sluggishness usually associated with longer rods. You can load the rod quickly with a compact stroke, send lures far out over the surf, and the blank recovers instantly for sharp, controlled presentations. At the same time, the action is not overly fast or “tippy”, which makes the loading highly efficient and forgiving, without a narrow casting sweet spot typical of older high-modulus carbon rods.

The torque-rich backbone works hand in hand with a sensitive tip, generating power in direct interaction with the fish rather than fighting against it. Lures track cleanly and naturally in waves and current, without being pulled out of the feeding zone. This helps you fish effectively over shallow banks, tidal current edges and surf beaches where predators feed close to the bottom or in broken water.

Megabass Astelion AST-101M
AST-101M is the powerful long-range model, built to launch lures reliably to distant structure regardless of surf, swell or beach conditions. It handles larger minnows, metal vibrations over 20 g and metal jigs with ease, allowing you to maintain long casting distance while reducing fatigue over extended sessions. The strong, high-torque blank gives you the authority to control big seabass, halibut and bluefish that patrol close to the shore, even when hooked at extreme distance.

Megabass Astelion 96ML
96ML is the all-round coastal seabass rod that combines power and finesse for versatile estuary and shoreline fishing. It has the striking power to keep large seabass under control, yet remains delicate enough to work small minnows around 9 cm, slim vibrations and sinking pencils with precision and without effort. Its excellent sensitivity lets you clearly read tidal flow, subtle changes in current seams and takes on a slack line. The 96ML offers impressive casting performance for big rivers and tidal areas, while staying light and easy to handle for active wading and bank fishing.
