The setup is intended for shore fishing for salmon in Lake Vättern, particularly during the colder months from October to March, and for long casts with bombarda and flies. The three-piece Kinetic Tournament Sturgeon CL XH measures 12'2" (approximately 371 cm) and has a casting weight of 20–60 g. Its length supports long casts and helps keep the line above waves and obstacles near the shore, while also providing line control during the fight.
