Illex have selected the finest component including high modulus Japanese TORAY carbon blanks and FUJI Alconite rings and reel seats.

These slim profile rods are discretely finished and we have gone back to combining top quality Portuguese cork with high density EVA on the handles. To meet the needs of the most demanding anglers the Illex design team have created three families within the range each dedicated to a target species: perch and zander, black bass and pike.

Night Shadow rods show what happens when Japanese technology is applied and developed to specifically meet the needs of European anglers.

The NIGHT SHADOWS B 180 ML FG Cranking Machine is a baitcasting rod for boat or float tube use. Built on a composite blank blending high modulus carbon with fibreglass.

Dedicated to using lures like crankbaits, light buzzbaits, spinnerbaits and surface lures. The composite blank is both powerful and comfortable absorbing the vibrations of crankbaits like Cherry 10CC, Diving Cherry, Mush Bob 50 MR and the Block Ripper 48 MR.

Illex Night Shadows B 250 XXH The Wild Dog, 180-200g
The NIGHT SHADOWS B 250 XXH The Wild Dog is a baitcasting model developed for specimen pike anglers. Designed for fishing big swimbaits and oversized shads like the Dexter 250.

Adding some fibreglass to the blank helps reduce fatigue from excess lure vibration and helps compress the blank more fully on each cast – important when distance is a factor to reach wary, educated fish in clear water. Softening the action with fibreglass also helps when playing hard fighting pike and keeps hook pulls to a minimum.

If you are looking for a rod for fishing tight spots from bank, boat or float tube where accurate pitching-style casts are important then the NIGHT SHADOWS B220 MH Jungle Blast will fit the bill nicely. This casting rod features a short butt and is light, powerful and perfectly balanced. Great for cover cranking with spinnerbaits and blade jigs.
