Illex DEXTER EEL 280 is a large soft bait developed for hunting specimen pike and record catfish, and it also excels for cod, pollock and halibut in saltwater. The slim eel profile and soft body give a natural swimming action that stands out from standard big shads, ideal when the fish have seen it all.

The body is infused with Illex's crustacean attractant NITRO BOOSTER, adding an extra scent trail to help predators home in on the lure. At very slow retrieve speeds the tail and body come to life, making it highly effective on pressured or wary fish that prefer an easy meal.

DEXTER EEL 280 can be rigged in several ways depending on your fishing: on a classic jig head for vertical or casting, with an offset wide gape hook for Texas-style presentations through weeds, or weightless for a slow, natural fall. It fishes well cranking over weed beds, along vegetation, or allowed to sink down drop-offs where big predators patrol.
