Guideline Salmon 15' leaders are purpose-built for modern salmon and steelhead fishing, supplied in a practical 2-pack. Each leader comes in a UV-proof, re-sealable zip bag that fits neatly in your fishing vest, keeping your leaders protected and ready to fish. The leaders are pre-looped for quick and secure connection to your shooting head or Spey line, allowing you to change setups efficiently on the river. Their discrete smoke grey colour gives a low visual profile in the water, ideal when targeting pressured or wary salmon in clear conditions.

The 15-foot taper is the result of years of fine-tuning on the river, optimised specifically for Spey casting and modern salmon fly lines. The taper is divided into 40% butt (182 cm), 25% taper (114 cm) and 35% tip (160 cm), creating a powerful energy transfer from the rod all the way to the fly. With a 0.65 mm butt section, these leaders match perfectly with contemporary Spey lines and shooting heads, giving excellent turnover even with larger salmon flies or weighted tubes. The shorter, more aggressive mid-taper quickly steps down to a long tip section that is already sized as an ideal tippet length, so you can knot your fly directly to the leader without having to add extra tippet if you don’t want to.
