Summary

Highwater was an extremely popular WF line in Guideline's range for almost two decades. The Highwater Classic is based on the very first model that was entirely green and has been missed by many. This line is an extremely good all-round line for the slightly more experienced angler. The line and its tapering allow you to present equally well on short casts as on mid-range, and the line truly shines when you need that extra distance. The line has been a clear favorite among many who often fish in lakes and larger rivers.

Productinformation

The line has a 4 to 4.6 meter long front taper and a belly section between 6.8 and 7.4 meters, depending on the line class. This ensures delicate presentations and a perfect turnover when fishing with long leaders. The relatively long belly gives you a line with extremely good stability and ensures sharp line loops that present equally well regardless of distance. The back taper is between 1.8 and 2.2 meters long and is long enough to ensure stability, but short enough to make the line user-friendly even for the experienced, even for water anchored casts.

The clear color change between the "klump" and the shooting line gives you a good indication of the line's "sweet spot", especially for water anchored casts. The total length of the "klump" varies depending on the line class, to be as optimized as possible. Highwater Classic is available from WF #3 to #7, and the "klump" lengths range from 12.5 to 14.3 meters. The weights are roughly the same as on the Experience+, but the feel of the Highwater Classic differs as the "klump" is longer. With roughly the same weight but on more meters, you get a line that is even more stable in the air and despite its length, easy to carry.
