Abu Garcia Max 5

The Max5 LP is a low-profile baitcasting reel built for anglers who throw and troll big baits for large pike and other strong predators. With powerful internal gearing and a rugged Duragear™ brass gear, it delivers the cranking strength you need when working heavy lures or turning a strong fish from cover.

The graphite frame and side plates keep weight down without sacrificing stability, while the 4+1 bearing system provides smooth operation during both retrieve and fight. The long 95 mm aluminium handle, together with oversized co-moulded soft touch knobs, gives solid grip and extra leverage when grinding big lures or pumping a heavy fish.

Cast control is handled by the MagTrax™ Braking System, helping you tune the reel to different lure weights and casting styles with reduced risk of backlashes. The Power Stack Carbon Matrix™ drag system offers consistent drag pressure, giving you controlled runs and reliable stopping power when a trophy fish takes off.
