The bait should be swept / pumped home while working with the rod. In the sweep, HardTarget cuts out to the sides while wiggling. It works just like a fleeing and desperate prey fish.

This bait is so close to JW's heart that he has even acquired custom equipment. Optimal is a fast rod with a casting weight up to 60-70gr (if the rod is too oversized, it will be more difficult to get the side sticks. In addition, a reel with a high gear ratio that quickly takes home the line after each sweep.
